The first Texas Economic Theory Camp will be held at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, on October 6 and 7, 2012.
The purpose of the camp is to foster greater
interaction among researchers working in pure and applied economic
theory in Texas, and to provide a forum for scholars to present their current
research. It is expected that a large fraction of presenters will be junior faculty
and PhD students.
Any paper (including work in progress) with significant theoretical content (and
independent of the area of application) would be welcome.
There are five participating institutions in this camp (listed above). Each
institution will nominate (a maximum of) three speakers (that can be any
combination of faculty members and PhD students, and drawn from any unit of the
university). The choice of speakers (and the process of making the choice) will
be determined by the participating institution.
Participating institutions are requested to
send a list of speakers (along with their contact information and paper titles)
as well as names of other potential attendees to the local organizer by Monday,
September 17, 2012.
The camp will begin just after noon on October 6, Saturday, and end on October
7, Sunday, afternoon. The program will include a dinner for camp participants
on Saturday evening.
