Description: The image below includes Tzintzuntzan (cabecera municipal), the adjacent community of Ojo de Agua (to the east) and Ichupio (to the west), as well as Colonia Lázaro Cárdenas and Colonia Tzintzuntzita, both located about 2 kms. to the south on the highway to Pátzcuaro. In addition, the image shows the locations of several hamlets in the municipio, including Tzocurio, Patamban, las Granjeras, Puerta de Coenembo, San Diego Granjas, Las Cuevas, Santa Cruz, El Nuevo Rodeo, and San Rafael. The "urban area" of Tzintzuntzan is represented by the yellow area, which follows the grid-plan imposed by the Spanish colonists in the sixteenth century.
