Description: This aerial photo shows the grid plan of the contemporary community of Tzintzuntzan and the adjacent archaeological zone known locally as the Yácatas (see the large rectangular structure near the lower middle of the photo. At the top (north) of the photo is the margin of Lake Pátzcuaro, which has receded considerably in the half-century since George M. Foster became ethnographic research in Tzintzuntzan in 1945.
