Description: This aerial photo shows the grid plan of the contemporary community of Tzintzuntzan and the adjacent archaeological zone known locally as the Yácatas (see the large rectangular structure near the lower middle of the photo. At the top (north) of the photo is Lake Pátzcuaro, along the edges of which are to be found agricultural fields and weekend homes for tourists from Morelia, the state capital of Michoacán.
