Instructions for the Map Quiz
Guidelines: This will be a closed-book, closed-notes in-class quiz on the states, state capitals, major rivers, mountain/ranges, and gulf/bays of Mexico.
Instructions: Learn the locations and names of all the states and the Distrito Federal (Federal District). Also learn the names of the corresponding state (and D.F.) capital cities. As a guide to this work, please go to Map Quiz 2.
In addition, with the assistance of an atlas or maps (from a book or from the Internet), learn the names and locations of the rivers, mountain ranges, and gulfs/bays provided below:
Rivers: Rio Balsas, Rio Bravo del Norte, Rio Colorado, Rio Fuerte, Rio Lerma, Rio Pánuco, Rio Tehuantepec, Rio Usumacinta
Mountain Ranges: Sierra Madre Occidental, Sierra Madre Oriental, Sierra Madre del Sur
Gulfs and Bays: Golfo de Tehuantepec, Golfo de California, Bahía de Tehuantepec
Materials: A blank map with the state outlines will be provided. You will be asked to identify a certain number of states, capitals, and geographic features.
