10/06/05: Reader’s
Theater
- Reader’s Theater is an opportunity to
contemplate the thematic or ideological “core” of a text by identifying,
isolating, and rendering it visible through performance.
- Working in groups, you will create a short skit
that enacts that core. One skit
for each of the four parts of Strachey’s “A true repertory.” You have 15 minutes, so work quickly.
- Requirements
- Must involve everyone (may include narrator,
special effects, etc.)
- Must be between 1-4 minutes
- Must be able to defend what you chose to
represent and how
- May cover more than one particular “scene,” but
should strive to develop as much as possible a particular thematic
core. To that end, you might
consider titling your skit or “act”
