Any student who wishes to join Pi Sigma Alpha – the national political science honorary society – may pick up an application form from the “Pi Sigma Alpha” folder in the student filing cabinet in the front of the political science departmental suite.  To qualify for membership in this organization, a student must have

* completed a minimum of 15 hours of coursework in Political Science, including 6 hours in introductory (1000 level) courses;

* attained a GPA of not less than 3.25 in those Political Science courses; and

* maintained an overall GPA of no less than 3.00 in all college courses (SMU and elsewhere).

The cost of membership is $35.00 ($30.00 for national dues, $5.00 to cover material/food/drinks for our initiation).  Students should see Ms. Dorsey or Ms. Gillespie for the application form.  They are to fill it out, staple a copy of their degree progress report to it, attach cash or a check for $35.00 (made out to Joe Kobylka, as PSA will only accept one check per chapter), and turn all of this material in to Ms. Dorsey or Ms. Gillespie by Friday, 8 February.  The initiation ceremony will take place in mid- to late-April.
