CLASS ISSUES
-
Choice between becoming
a musician and going to law school.
-
Should a major be picked in light of the current
economic situation?
-
When should you stop acting like a child and
become an adult? Does acting your age have
value?
-
Should you take a job offer if that means
uprooting your family or abandoning
relationships? How important is personal
achievement?
-
Is it important to live your life according to
some plan, or is it OK to drift?
-
Should you take the stable, secure route (e.g.
lawschool) or take risks in order to pursue a
passion (e.g. writing or journalism)?
INSTRUCTIONS
Get into four groups.
-
Each group should
"claim" one of these issues by writing the
number on the board.
-
Your job is to make
use of the authors and ideas we have studied in
this class, and provide "counseling" on the
issue.
-
After you've
discussed the issue a bit, "claim" the authors
and ideas you will be using by writing them by
the number you put on the board.
-
We will try to avoid
having every group use the same authors and
ideas.
