CLASS ISSUES

  1. Choice between becoming a musician and going to law school. 

  2. Should a major be picked in light of the current economic situation?

  3. When should you stop acting like a child and become an adult?  Does acting your age have value?

  4. Should you take a job offer if that means uprooting your family or abandoning relationships?  How important is personal achievement?

  5. Is it important to live your life according to some plan, or is it OK to drift?

  6. Should you take the stable, secure route (e.g. lawschool) or take risks in order to pursue a passion (e.g.  writing or journalism)?

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Get into four groups.

  • Each group should "claim" one of these issues by writing the number on the board.

  • Your job is to make use of the authors and ideas we have studied in this class, and provide "counseling" on the issue.

  • After you've discussed the issue a bit, "claim" the authors and ideas you will be using by writing them by the number you put on the board.

  • We will try to avoid having every group use the same authors and ideas.
