About me
I was born in Hannover, Germany (see
map) but am now a permanent resident of the U.S.

I am married to my lovely wife Maureen.
Places I have lived include Billings, MT, State College, PA, Eckernförde, Germany,
and College Station, TX. Currently, I live in Dallas, TX.

I went to university at Christian-Albrechts Universität in Kiel,
Germany. I received my Diplom in Volkswirtschaftslehre.
(That's economics.) My focus was international economics.

I spent the academic year 2001/2002 at Penn State University.
This is where I took my first
Ph.D. level economics courses and

met my wife-to-be. Both were
important factors in my decision

to pursue graduate studies in the U.S.

I received my Ph.D. in economics from Texas A&M University.
My dissertation consists of chapters on Business Cycle Accounting
for the UK, fiscal stabilization in an open economy setting and
vertical FDI.
Since Fall 2009 I have been a visiting assistant professor at
Southern Methodist University.
