Primary Colors first emerged as a popular book by a writer who used the pen name, Anonymous. It created quite a stir because the leading character, Jack Stanton, was markedly similar to President Bill Clinton. The writer turned out to be Joe Klein, a writer for Newsweek magazine who covered the Clinton campaign.
