The lecture schedule is your guide for every week's theme. Under each date you will find a summary of the content of the lecture and the readings that you should do to follow the lecture. Periodically throughout the semester, lecture PowerPoints will be posted to the site so that you may use them to review course material. PowerPoints are posted at least twice a semester.  The first half of the semester's presentations are posted approximately one week before the midterm.  The second half of the presentations are added approximately one week before the final.

Research Topics

The research paper is a major component of your final grade. The assignment requires that you first submit an outline that will be reviewed by a teaching associate, permitting you feedback on the thesis and preliminary research which you have conducted for your paper. Follow this link for detailed instructions on the preparation of the outline; the paper; a review of citation and bibliographic materials; and a list of possible topics.
